German patent application (Offenlegungsschrift) for the original Ovation roundback guitar construction. Describes a hollow soundbox with a bowl-shaped body made from resin-impregnated fiberglass fabric with uniform wall thickness and acoustically reflective inner surface. Features a tapered wooden soundboard, L-shaped profile connecting body to soundboard, bracing ribs, and a neck with internal hollow bore containing an adjustable tension rod to compensate for string tension bowing.
